Raspberry Jam

Ingredients
  

Fruits
  • 4 cups fresh raspberries washed and stems removed
Sweeteners
  • 2 cups granulated sugar adjust to taste
Acid
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
Pectin
  • 1 package pectin for jam making

Method
 

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. In a large saucepan, combine the raspberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir gently to mix.
Cook the Jam
  1. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.
  2. Add the pectin and continue to boil for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat and skim off any foam that forms on the surface.
Jar the Jam
  1. Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars using a canning funnel, leaving about 1/4 inch of headspace.
  2. Seal the jars with lids and process in a boiling water bath for 5-10 minutes to ensure preservation.
Cool and Store
  1. Remove the jars from the water bath and let them cool completely on a clean towel.
  2. Once cooled, check the seals and store in a cool, dark place.
